Review: All Scot and Bothered
All Scot and Bothered by Kerrigan ByrneMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
I love Kerrigan Byrne's writing style. I simply do. She has a way of bringing angst, ache and longing into a story in a meaningful and beautiful way. This novel is not an exception.
Both Ramsay and Cecelia have tragic childhoods marked by loneliness and abuse. It was really interesting to see how that past shaped them in a different way: Ramsay is cold and shut to emotions while Cecelia lives to help and care for others. I love how they complement each other and bring the best in each other. There's intrigue, danger and mysteries that unfold at the last minute that make this story a beautiful read.

Review: Flying Gold
Flying Gold by Vanessa NorthMy rating: 3 of 5 stars
There's something about these books that pull me in. I really liked this take on second chance romance as the author does a good job in giving enough time (10 years) from the break up. It gives the charactes time to grow, live their lives and come back to each other from a place of understanding and moving forward. I'm really not fond of cheating but in this case I felt the issue was well handled as the male lead never tries to justify his actions but owns to his mistakes. It was great to revisit this family and feel that for a while the world is a better place.

Review: Daring and the Duke
Daring and the Duke by Sarah MacLeanMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
I was looking forward to this book and it didn't disappoint. I've always wondered how Ewan's redemption would go and whether there was a chance for him and Grace to find a happy ending.
Sarah did a wonderful job tying a story that doesn't pull back punches in the angst and tragic backgrounds but at the same time is filled with love and forgiving. I adored the concept that they were each other's first and last love, but they also took time to know one another again and fall in love with each other as they are today.
Ewan making amends with his brothers and his decision to let his past and present go in order to have a future were the balm that I definitely needed in these dire times.
A wonderful read!

This was a wonderful read. I really like the idea behind Sebastian losing his title and what that meant for him and the changes and choices he had to make because of it. It was a refreshing twist on the usual trope and one that I enjoyed thoroughly. Ivy is a wonderful and fierce spirit and I really enjoyed their relationship very much.
And Nash, oh boy, I can't wait to read your story.

Review: Chasing Cassandra
Chasing Cassandra by Lisa KleypasMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
It's just... so wonderful. I have to be honest, I was not sold on Tom Severin prior to this book. I was really hoping to have one of Marcus' son or for crying out loud one of the Hathaways' offspring to come sweep Cassandra of her feet and have her swoon but how wrong I was. Once again, Kleypass does it again. Tom's absolute fascination with Cassandra is both hilarious and wonderful and I felt for her, for all the things she craved and wanted in life and thought she could never have.
And don't get me started on Buzzle because my heart can't take it all.
From beginning to end, a wonderful read.

Review: Blood & Ash
Blood & Ash by Deborah WildeMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
There are several things I like about Deborah Wilde's writing and they are all present in this book. There's a kick-ass heroine thrown into a destiny she didn't want and has no idea how to solve for.
There's a hero that is just the right amount of cockiness and good intentions.
There's a frenemies to reluctant partners to lust partners in which you know YOU KNOW those two idiots feel a lot more than what they admit, and it's full of banter and great moments.
There are great secondary characters that you'll love to pieces (hello Miles, you look like my next mistake).
And the worldbuilding in this one is absolutely amazing. A strong beginning for a series that I know I'm going to enjoy and I can't wait to read the next one!

Review: Love Her or Lose Her
Love Her or Lose Her by Tessa BaileyMy rating: 4 of 5 stars
4.5 stars!I love a lot of things on this book and one of them is the shockingly pretty accurate description of Argentinian food. I was preparing myself to curse under my breath over that one but it was really good.
I really REALLY love the topic of this book and how it really goes deep into two people that got married young and lost themselves along the way. I like that there are no villains, no guilt parties and it's about working together to understand one another. A wonderful read that makes me forgive the berry jam in the alfajores and the spiced pork in the empanadas. :P
Great great GREAT book
